Columbia 300 returns to the roots of the legendary Piranha line with a modern version of the vibrant orange Piranha. It’s a throwback to the era when the Piranha dominated the lanes. We’ve taken the core design that delivered predictable early-roll and unmistakable control in the Piranha PowerCOR balls and modified it. By changing the density of the Piranha core and removing the PowerCOR nugget, we raised the RG and lowered the differential. These updates to the core help deliver consistency and control. Surrounding that core with our latest HyperFlex cover technology, a non-HK22 formula that found success in the recent Pulse release, we crafted a motion that is smooth yet confident. The 1500 grit finish creates a Piranha Solid that is built to perform on medium-to-heavier lane conditions when consistency really matters. The Motiv Supra Sport is a new machine built to handle light-medium oil conditions when the conditions start to push back. This is the first solid Supra ever, engineered specifically for Sport conditions where oil is flatter, misses are punished, and control matters more than raw angle. Past Supras were all about speed and angle, great when the lanes opened-up. The Supra Sport plays a different role in the bag. Smooth, stable, and repeatable; perfect for when patterns are demanding and misses get punished. the Supra Sport allows you to handle these tougher patterns with ease.
The engine powering the Supra Sport is the Quadfire core, a proven long-term platform in the MOTIV lineup. With a high RG (2.55) and moderate differential (.043), it revs slower than the Venom’s Gear core, intentionally, but creates more flare for added drive through the pins. The Supra Sport will be a great complement to solid Venoms when they want to spin up too quickly in the front of the lane.

- But what about your daily bread? Design comps, layouts, wireframes—will your clients accept that you go about things the facile way?
- Authorities in our business will tell in no uncertain terms that Lorem Ipsum is that huge, huge no no to forswear forever.
- Not so fast, I'd say, there are some redeeming factors in favor of greeking text, as its use is merely the symptom of a worse problem to take into consideration.
- Websites in professional use templating systems.
- Commercial publishing platforms and content management systems ensure that you can show different text, different data using the same template.
- When it's about controlling hundreds of articles, product pages for web shops, or user profiles in social networks, all of them potentially with different sizes, formats, rules for differing elements things can break, designs agreed upon can have unintended consequences and look much different than expected.
This is quite a problem to solve, but just doing without greeking text won't fix it. Using test items of real content and data in designs will help, but there's no guarantee that every oddity will be found and corrected. Do you want to be sure? Then a prototype or beta site with real content published from the real CMS is needed—but you’re not going that far until you go through an initial design cycle.
